As advocates for the next generation of clean technologies, we’re often out visiting the UK’s most exciting hard-tech projects – places where innovation is made tangible through real kit and infrastructure.
This week, however, we had the privilege of co-hosting Vicky Foxcroft MP at Blue Garage in Lewisham, alongside founder, Michael Korn – a unique space designed to help clean-technology scale-ups grow.
Blue Garage represents both a workspace, and a home for a thriving community of entrepreneurs, engineers and makers, all working to build the next generation of clean technologies. Under one roof you’ll find not just desks and tools, but the expertise and support that young companies struggle to access elsewhere. From independent advice and marketing support to fabrication, prototyping and testing facilities.
It’s an inspiring example of what happens when the right environment, networks and practical resources come together. The important of lowering the barriers to scale-up is significant. Spaces like Blue Garage turn brilliant ideas into viable businesses faster, helping the UK retain world-class talent and move closer to its net-zero goals.
